Ibadan's Real Estate Boom: Should Smaller Developers Be Worried About Big Developers Taking

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has appointed six zonal coordinators to lead his presidential campaign organisation ahead of the 2027 general election, as he seeks to advance his Reset Nigeria agenda nationwide.

Makinde, who is the presidential candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), announced the appointments in a statement issued in Abuja by Richard Ihediwa, Director of Strategic Communications for the Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation.

The appointments cover Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones and are intended to strengthen the campaign’s coordination, mobilisation and engagement with voters ahead of the January 16, 2027 presidential election. Premium Times reported the appointments on October 1, 2026.

Six Coordinators Named

The campaign organisation announced the following appointments:

  • South-West: High Chief Dr Eddy Olafeso
  • North-East: Habu Muazu
  • North-West: Senator Ibrahim Tsauri
  • North-Central: Dr Bode Ojomo
  • South-South: Akadiaha Ebitu
  • South-East: Sir Obi Okechukwu

According to the campaign statement, the coordinators will work with the National Campaign Management Committee and the party’s national leadership, drawing on their political experience and networks to mobilise support.

Campaign to Focus on Nationwide Mobilisation

The campaign organisation said the appointments were intended to support an issue-based and people-oriented campaign across the country.

It added that further appointments would be announced as preparations continue.

The development marks a step in the organisation of Makinde’s presidential campaign, with the six coordinators expected to help establish regional structures and communicate the campaign’s policy agenda.

The effectiveness of the structure will depend on how the campaign translates its appointments into grassroots engagement, policy discussions and voter outreach across the geopolitical zones.
