The Presidential Campaign Council director-general says the campaign will focus on the administration’s record, ongoing reforms and policy plans ahead of the 2027 election.

The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has pledged to lead a united and disciplined campaign aimed at securing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Yari gave the assurance on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, during the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council by Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

He said the campaign would prioritise the administration’s achievements, ongoing reforms and plans for Nigeria’s future rather than resorting to personal attacks, insults or fear-based messaging.

The former Zamfara State governor’s remarks come as the ruling party intensifies preparations for the next presidential election, with political leaders expected to coordinate mobilisation efforts across the country.

Campaign to focus on policies and achievements

Yari’s pledge signals an effort by the APC campaign leadership to present a coordinated message to voters and maintain discipline among party officials and supporters.

The campaign council is expected to communicate the administration’s policy direction, defend its record and mobilise support for Tinubu’s second-term bid.

The emphasis on achievements and reforms also comes amid public debate over the administration’s economic policies, living costs, employment and security.

For the ruling party, the challenge will be to demonstrate how its policies have affected Nigerians and explain what it intends to do differently or continue if re-elected.

APC prepares for 2027 contest

The inauguration marks another stage in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Yari’s commitment to a disciplined campaign places responsibility on the council’s leadership to coordinate party structures, communicate policy proposals clearly and ensure that campaign activities remain focused on issues.

The effectiveness of the strategy will ultimately depend on the campaign’s ability to reach voters, address public concerns and translate its message into electoral support.
