In a fiery declaration from the Oval Office on Tuesday, former U.S. President Donald Trump reignited accusations against his political rivals, alleging that former President Barack Obama, President Joe Biden, and key intelligence officials orchestrated a “treasonous” campaign to derail his administration and rig the 2016 and 2020 elections.
Trump referenced a newly released intelligence report from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, which claims that the Obama administration manipulated intelligence surrounding Russian interference in the 2016 election. The report suggests the effort was part of a broader plan to remove Trump from office.
“They got caught red-handed,” Trump said. “It wasn’t just a group effort. It was Obama. His name is on the paperwork. It came straight out of his office. This was treason, plain and simple.”
Trump claimed that while he initially chose not to prosecute Hillary Clinton after his 2016 victory, believing it inappropriate to target the former First Lady, the recent revelations left him no choice but to seek justice.
“After what they did to me—and to this country—it’s time to go after people. And this time, I won’t hold back,” Trump declared, adding that Obama, Biden, and former top officials James Comey, John Brennan, and James Clapper were “all in the room” when the plot was allegedly conceived.
He described Obama as the “gang leader” of the operation, blaming the former president for directing the intelligence community’s alleged effort to sabotage Trump’s presidency from the beginning.
The comments also come amid renewed controversy surrounding the release of the long-rumored “Epstein client list.” Trump allies and far-right groups had long claimed the list would expose high-profile Democratic elites. However, earlier this month, the Department of Justice released a memo stating no such list was found, and confirmed that there was no evidence of blackmail involving powerful individuals.
The memo concluded that Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges—directly contradicting the conspiracy theories pushed by several prominent Trump supporters.
Trump critics within the MAGA movement have since turned on his own Justice Department, accusing it of a cover-up and demanding the resignation of Attorney General Pam Bondi.
Despite growing internal dissent, Trump remained defiant. “They tried to steal the election, and they failed. Now there must be consequences,” he said.
As Trump intensifies his campaign rhetoric ahead of the 2026 midterms and a potential presidential bid in 2028, his explosive remarks are likely to escalate partisan tensions and deepen divisions among voters and officials alike.
