Nigerian billionaire entrepreneur and nightlife mogul Obi Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, has revealed plans to retire from active business when he turns 60. The 50-year-old businessman said he intends to spend his later years exploring the world, relaxing, and giving his wife the best experiences life can offer.

In a recent interview with content creator ‘onejoblessboy’, which was shared on Instagram, Obi Cubana spoke about his vision for the next decade to one that shifts his focus from wealth-building to enjoying the fruits of his labour.

“In the next 10 years, when I’m 60, I’ll retire. I’ll travel the world and give my wife the best that life has to offer. The goal is for my children to become independent and live their own lives. No more work,” he said.

The luxury lifestyle businessman, whose success story continues to inspire many, explained that his current hustle and constant travels are not just for show but part of a structured financial plan. According to him, every move he makes is geared toward ensuring a stable, self-sustaining future where he can step back without worries.

“One day, the body will grow weak,” he noted. “That’s why it’s important to build systems that keep working for you. If you see me in a jet, at a meeting, or attending an event, it’s all part of the plan for that future.”

Obi Cubana, who has become a household name in Nigeria for his business empire and philanthropic lifestyle, emphasized the need for entrepreneurs to plan early for life after success. He said that wealth without structure often fades quickly, stressing that smart investments and long-term systems are what guarantee a comfortable retirement.

His remarks reflect a growing shift among top Nigerian business leaders who are now prioritizing work-life balance, legacy, and family after years of intense enterprise building. For Obi Cubana, retirement is not about slowing down completely — it’s about living freely, on his own terms, after ensuring that everything he’s built can thrive without him.

“At that stage of life, I just want to enjoy peace, travel with my wife, and watch my kids succeed on their own. That, for me, is true success,” he concluded.
