The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended Frank Chijioke Ibemesi, also known as Chisco Bee, a wanted drug lord who operated under the guise of a businessman and hotelier. The arrest follows weeks of intensive surveillance and intelligence gathering on his illicit activities.

NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi confirmed that Ibemesi, 42, and MD/CEO of Franc CJ Ibemesi Nig Ltd, was arrested at his Daisy Garden Hotel on Agbeke Street, Ago Palace Way, Isolo, Lagos, in the early hours of Saturday, November 15, 2025. Authorities also raided his warehouse at Pius Ezeobi Street, recovering 42 jumbo bags and four cartons of Loud cannabis weighing a total of 1,762.8 kilograms. Large sums of foreign currency were seized at the site, including $11,600 USD, 2,000 British Pounds, 2,200 Euros, and 50 Canadian dollars.

Babafemi added that the NDLEA successfully disrupted a major cannabis trafficking operation in Osun State. Two trucks—a Volvo (WWR 29 XA) and a Mercedes (AWK 713 YZ)—intended to transport over 11,000 kilograms of processed skunk cannabis nationwide were intercepted, and seven suspects were arrested. Those in custody include Lucky Abiodun, Julius Amos, Victor Ngbikili, Sunday Oduegwu, Ibrahim Akanni, Eze Godstime, and Fred Ifeanyichukwu.

In Edo State, the agency also recovered 1,902.1 kilograms of skunk from multiple locations. On November 13, 184.1 kilograms were seized along Oza/Igbanke Road in Orhionmwon LGA. The following day, 672 kilograms were recovered from Utese Forest, Ovia North East LGA. Additionally, law enforcement seized 494 kilograms from a Mercedes Benz (DE311BEN) along Benin-Akure Road, arresting Felix Edah, 45, and 552 kilograms from another Mercedes (JJJ 56 JW), apprehending Lucky Abagha, 51.

The NDLEA continues to strengthen its crackdown on drug trafficking networks across the country, signaling a firm stance against narcotics-related crimes.
