Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholor has expressed absolute confidence that President Bola Tinubu will emerge victorious in Edo during the 2027 presidential election, declaring that he is prepared to resign if the outcome goes otherwise.

In a video interview that has gained traction online, Okpebholor vowed to step down from office should Edo State fail to deliver a win for the President. He insisted that residents are firmly behind Tinubu, pointing to infrastructure and governance projects implemented under his administration since the All Progressives Congress (APC) took over the state.

According to the governor, the ruling party currently faces no real challenge in Edo, and support for the President has grown significantly ahead of the upcoming election cycle.

“There is no opposition here; the whole of Edo is for Asiwaju,” Okpebholor said in the viral clip, adding that Tinubu enjoys greater popularity in the state than he does.

“If he does not win Edo in 2027, I will resign,” he reiterated.
