The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has summoned former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, for questioning, raising renewed attention on the anti-graft agency’s ongoing investigations.
Malami confirmed the development on his Facebook page on Friday, stating that he received an official invitation from the EFCC. He described the summons as an opportunity to provide clarification and pledged to cooperate fully, emphasizing his commitment as a law-abiding and patriotic citizen.
In his statement, the former minister reiterated his dedication to honesty, integrity, and accountability, principles he said have guided his years in public office. He further assured Nigerians that he would keep them updated on any developments related to the matter.
The EFCC has not disclosed the specific issues for which Malami has been summoned.
