Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2face, has prompted widespread concern after posting a brief cry for help amid an ongoing dispute involving his wife and Edo State lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru.
The award-winning singer, who had previously remained silent on the controversy, made his first public comment on Wednesday via his Instagram Story. His post contained only two words: “Help me.”
The plea surfaced shortly after his brother, Hyacinth Idibia, shared a post on Instagram expressing worry over the singer’s situation. Hyacinth’s message included lines from one of 2face’s songs, suggesting that the hardship being experienced was now playing out in reality.
“You’ve always been ahead, always been brilliant,” he wrote. “Lyrics meant to inspire are unfolding in real time… A painful truth. Let us help you. You’ve suffered for too long. Only God understands.”
The ongoing tension between the music star and Osawaru has been in the public spotlight for weeks. Reports indicate that the conflict escalated during a recent trip to the United Kingdom, where a confrontation between the couple allegedly led to police involvement and the singer’s brief arrest.
The issue resurfaced during an Instagram Live session hosted by broadcaster Daddy Freeze, during which the couple engaged in a heated dispute on camera.
The series of incidents has fueled speculation that their marriage may be in distress. Many fans have taken to social media to express concern about 2face’s emotional wellbeing.
