A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha Jet crashed on Saturday evening near Karabonde in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, according to early reports from the scene.
Local sources, whose accounts have not yet been officially confirmed, said the two pilots aboard the aircraft were able to eject before impact and survived the crash.
The Nigerian Air Force has not released an official statement as investigations into the incident are expected to follow.
