The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed its national convention for March 2026, as the ruling party unveiled a detailed timetable for its ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses nationwide.
The timetable, released on Saturday and signed by the APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, shows that the series of congresses will culminate in the party’s national convention scheduled to hold from Wednesday, March 25, to Saturday, March 28, 2026.
According to the party, the exercise is being conducted in line with the provisions of Articles 11 and 17 of the APC Constitution and is aimed at electing party executives at all levels.
The schedule indicates that the process will commence with the e-registration of members nationwide from December 1, 2025, to January 30, 2026.
This will be followed by the issuance of notices for congresses to the state chapters and the Federal Capital Territory on February 2, 2026.
Purchase and submission of nomination forms for ward and local government area (LGA) congresses are slated for February 4 to February 9, 2026, while screening committees for ward and LGA positions will be inaugurated on February 10. Screening of aspirants is scheduled to run from February 11 to February 13.
Ward congresses will take place on February 18, with appeals arising from the exercise to be heard on February 19.
Local government congresses, including the election of three delegates—one of whom must be female—to the national convention, are scheduled for February 20, while appeals will be considered on February 21.
At the state level, the purchase of nomination forms for state executive positions is expected to commence from February 23 to February 27. Screening and appeals will hold between late February and early March, ahead of the state congresses fixed for Saturday, March 7, 2026.
Appeals arising from the state congresses will be entertained from March 9 to March 11.
The party will thereafter proceed to the zonal congresses, with the purchase and submission of forms scheduled for March 12 to March 17. Zonal congress committees will be inaugurated on March 18, followed by the screening of aspirants on March 19 and March 20.
Zonal congresses across the six geopolitical zones are slated for Saturday, March 21, 2026, with appeals scheduled for March 23.
The designated zonal offices include Ibadan for the South-West, Enugu for the South-East, Rivers/Cross River for the South-South, Kaduna for the North-West, Gombe/Bauchi for the North-East, and Nasarawa for the North-Central.
