Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris, has sent Christmas greetings to Christians and Nigerians across the country, urging citizens to pray for peace, unity and national cohesion.
The governor described the Christmas season as a time for joy, reflection and love, noting that it offers an opportunity for Nigerians to seek divine guidance for Kebbi State and the nation as a whole.
Idris emphasised that Nigeria’s multi-religious and multi-ethnic diversity is a divine arrangement meant to strengthen unity and peaceful coexistence, calling on citizens to embrace tolerance and mutual understanding as foundations for sustainable development.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yahya Sarki, the governor encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful, expressing confidence that collaborative efforts by all levels of government would lead to improved economic and social conditions.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment, in partnership with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to advancing Kebbi State and Nigeria, citing progress recorded in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and social empowerment over the past two years.
Governor Idris also appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to support the less privileged during the festive period, stressing that acts of kindness would foster peace, harmony and shared progress.
He thanked the people of Kebbi State for their continued support and assured them of his administration’s resolve to uphold their trust.
