Award-winning Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has spoken openly about her personal life, disclosing that only one relationship in her past brought her genuine happiness.
The singer made the revelation during a candid conversation with media personality Korty EO, where she reflected on her dating history and the emotional toll of failed relationships. According to Savage, that one fulfilling relationship ended tragically with the death of her partner.
She explained that, aside from the late lover, her romantic experiences have largely been disappointing, describing them as painful and unfulfilling.
“There is hardly any relationship I can look back on and see something positive,” she said, adding that the only exception was a man she described as kind and exceptional, whose death deeply affected her.
Savage noted that her experiences have shaped the advice she gives her son, Jamil, especially on how to treat women with respect and empathy. She said her past struggles have made her more intentional about instilling positive values in him.
The 45-year-old singer was previously married to music executive Tunji Balogun, popularly known as Tee Billz. Their marriage, which began in 2013, ended in divorce in 2018. The union produced one child, Jamil.
Tiwa Savage remains one of Nigeria’s most influential music stars, often praised for her openness on personal issues and her willingness to speak honestly about life beyond fame.
