Governor assures anxious families that rescue efforts are producing positive results

Governor Seyi Makinde has assured residents of Oyo State that the teachers and students abducted during the shocking school kidnapping incident will soon regain their freedom.

The governor gave the assurance amid rising anxiety and nationwide concern following the disturbing attack, which triggered fear across communities and renewed conversations about insecurity in schools.

Makinde stated that security agencies have intensified rescue operations and are working closely with local intelligence networks to ensure the victims return safely. According to him, the government remains committed to protecting lives and restoring confidence among parents and residents.

The incident had sparked outrage after reports emerged that armed men stormed the school environment and whisked away students and teachers, leaving families devastated and traumatized. The attack also reignited fears over the safety of educational institutions in several parts of Nigeria.

Residents and parents have continued to call on authorities to strengthen security around schools, especially in rural communities vulnerable to criminal attacks. Many Nigerians on social media expressed concern over the increasing frequency of kidnappings targeting students and educational workers.

Despite the tension, the Oyo State Government insists there is significant progress in ongoing rescue efforts, while urging citizens to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information capable of disrupting security operations.
