Defence Minister Christopher Musa says even civilians would have detected the alleged coup planners.
Nigeria’s Defence Minister, Christopher Musa, has described the alleged coup plot against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as “foolhardy,” saying the plan lacked the sophistication required to succeed.
Musa stated that even ordinary civilians would have been able to identify and expose those allegedly behind the plot.
The minister made the comment while addressing concerns surrounding the reported conspiracy against the current administration.
According to him, the alleged planners underestimated the level of awareness and vigilance within the country’s security system and among citizens.
He maintained that Nigeria’s security institutions remain alert and committed to protecting the country’s democratic system and constitutional order.
The comment comes amid heightened political discussions and security concerns ahead of the 2027 general elections.
