President Bola Tinubu approved the recruitment of forest guards and directed security agencies to strengthen efforts to rescue kidnapped teachers and students.

President Bola Tinubu has approved the recruitment of 1,000 forest guards in Oyo State as part of efforts to strengthen security across vulnerable areas of the state.

The approval comes amid heightened concern following the abduction of pupils and teachers from schools in Oriire Local Government Area.

In addition to the recruitment initiative, the President directed a specialised security unit equipped with advanced rescue capabilities to intensify ongoing efforts aimed at securing the release of the abducted victims.

The directive reflects the Federal Government’s response to the school abduction incident, which has drawn significant attention from security authorities and political leaders.

The deployment of additional security resources is expected to support ongoing operations while strengthening surveillance and response capacity in affected communities.

Authorities have continued rescue efforts as investigations and security operations remain underway.
