Borno South senator says political opponents should not be underestimated ahead of the next presidential race.
Senator Ali Ndume has described the 2027 presidential election as a contest that could be as intense as a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) match.
The lawmaker representing Borno South Senatorial District made the remark while discussing the political landscape ahead of the next general election.
Ndume said political opponents should not be taken for granted, stressing that those around President Bola Tinubu must continue to provide honest assessments of the challenges ahead.
According to him, the election will involve significant political competition, adding that all parties involved would need to prepare for a difficult contest.
He also reflected on reactions generated by some of his previous political comments, noting that political developments continue to attract strong responses from different quarters.
Despite acknowledging the challenges ahead, Ndume reiterated that President Tinubu remains his president while maintaining that the coming political contest would be highly competitive.
