Police say the area remains secure after suspected IED triggers panic.
Several persons were reportedly injured after a bomb explosion suspected to have been caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) rocked a material market in Lagos.
The incident triggered panic among traders, customers and residents in the area as emergency and security personnel responded to the situation.
According to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Tijani, the affected commercial area remains safe despite the explosion. He assured residents that security agencies are on top of the situation.
The incident has drawn attention to safety concerns within densely populated commercial centres, particularly in locations that attract large daily human traffic.
Authorities have commenced necessary actions following the blast, while investigations into the circumstances surrounding the suspected IED continue.
