The African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Labour Party (LP) have confirmed receiving access codes from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), enabling them to begin uploading the names of their candidates for the 2027 general elections.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Labour Party (LP) have confirmed that they have received access codes from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to upload the names and particulars of their candidates to the commission’s nomination portal ahead of the 2027 general elections. The confirmation comes after INEC commenced the candidate nomination phase in line with the electoral timetable.
ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, disclosed that the party had received the access codes from INEC and had begun preparations for the upload process.
Similarly, Labour Party National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa, confirmed that the party’s National Chairman, Senator Esther Nenadi Usman, had received the commission’s access codes, clearing the way for the submission of the party’s nominated candidates.
The development follows INEC’s issuance of access codes to eligible political parties after the conclusion of their primaries. The codes are required for the electronic submission of candidates’ names, personal particulars and supporting documents through the commission’s Candidate Nomination Portal.
The upload process is a mandatory stage in preparations for the 2027 general elections, with political parties expected to complete submissions within the timelines stipulated by INEC.
Both ADC and the Labour Party indicated that they would proceed with uploading their candidates in accordance with INEC’s guidelines.
The confirmation comes amid ongoing nomination activities across several political parties, while the commission has reiterated that only duly authorised national officers can access the nomination portal using the issued codes.
With the access codes now confirmed, both the ADC and Labour Party have moved into the final nomination stage ahead of the 2027 general elections, joining other political parties already processing candidate submissions through INEC’s online portal.
