Ya’u, who currently serves as the ADC State Auditor after previously leading the party in Gombe, announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the ADC Ward Chairman in Kwadon, Liji Ward, Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area. In the letter, he cited personal political considerations and his desire to pursue a new political direction.
Ya’u declares support for Pantami
Following his resignation, the former ADC chairman formally joined the PDP and declared his support for Professor Isa Ali Pantami, the immediate past Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, who recently emerged as the PDP’s governorship candidate in Gombe State for the 2027 election.
Ya’u described Pantami as a leader with the experience and capacity to transform Gombe State, urging his supporters to work towards ensuring the PDP wins the forthcoming governorship election.
Another boost for PDP in Gombe
The defection is the latest in a series of political realignments in Gombe State ahead of the 2027 elections.
