Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure re-election in 2027, describing the next presidential contest as a “coronation exercise” and insisting that opposition figures, including Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, would be unable to stop the ruling party.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Keyamo said the All Progressives Congress (APC) remained firmly in control politically and electorally, maintaining that President Tinubu’s achievements in office had positioned him strongly for another term.
‘2027 Will Be a Coronation’
Keyamo said he was convinced that the 2027 presidential election would heavily favour President Tinubu, arguing that the opposition lacked the structure and momentum needed to unseat the incumbent.
He further declared that “everywhere will blur” for opposition candidates during the election, expressing confidence that the APC would emerge victorious at the polls.
Backs Tinubu’s Chances
According to the minister, the Tinubu administration’s economic reforms and political strategy have strengthened the President’s position ahead of the next general election.
He maintained that Nigerians would ultimately judge the administration based on its record in office rather than campaign rhetoric from opposition parties.
2027 Political Battle Intensifies
The comments come as political activities continue to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections, with both the ruling APC and opposition figures stepping up consultations, endorsements and coalition talks across the country.
