A Nigerian soldier has reportedly been arrested by military authorities after appearing on a TikTok livestream in military uniform and asking a popular influencer for financial assistance.
The soldier, who was attached to the Nigerian Army Aviation Hangar in Minna, Niger State, reportedly appeared during a livestream hosted by TikTok influencer King Pedro.
According to Sahara Reporters, the soldier was subsequently arrested at the 234 Battalion in Badagry, Lagos State, where he was staying.
Soldier asks for financial help
During the livestream, the soldier appeared in military camouflage and appealed to King Pedro for money.
When asked whether he had eaten, the soldier reportedly responded that he had not eaten.
He also said he had served in the Nigerian Army for five years and was deployed to Niger State.
The influencer criticised the soldier for seeking financial assistance while wearing his military uniform and warned that the conduct could attract disciplinary action.

A military source told Sahara Reporters that the soldier was taken into custody following the incident.
