Former Kano State Governor and NDC vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 election, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has commended the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria for speaking out about economic hardship and insecurity in the country.
Kwankwaso described the bishops’ concerns as a reflection of the everyday struggles confronting Nigerians and called on those in authority to take urgent action.
Kwankwaso praises bishops’ intervention
In a statement shared on his social media accounts, Kwankwaso praised the bishops for what he described as courage and patriotism in drawing attention to the challenges facing the country.
He said the issues raised by the Catholic leadership were not partisan but reflected problems experienced across different parts of Nigeria.
Cost of living and insecurity
Kwankwaso specifically highlighted the rising cost of living, worsening insecurity, declining public confidence and economic hardship.
He also pointed to unemployment, poor access to quality education and healthcare, and diminishing opportunities as challenges requiring urgent attention.
Call for accountability
The NDC vice-presidential candidate urged Nigerians to continue engaging the Federal Government and other leaders constructively.
He called for greater accountability and policies that prioritise the security, welfare and prosperity of citizens.
Kwankwaso said responsible leadership and collective commitment were necessary to build a more peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
