A leaked Department of State Services (DSS) intelligence memo has warned of planned Boko Haram attacks and kidnappings targeting communities in Adamawa and Borno states, prompting security agencies to heighten surveillance and preventive measures. The intelligence report, dated July 27, 2026, was reportedly addressed to the Commander of the 23 Armoured Brigade in Yola, Adamawa State.
According to the memo, suspected Boko Haram fighters are allegedly planning coordinated attacks around Michika Local Government Area in Adamawa State and Askira Uba Local Government Area in Borno State following what the report described as the collapse of an alleged ceasefire arrangement.
Officials, Traditional Rulers Among Alleged Targets
The leaked document claimed the insurgents intend to abduct government officials, councillors, district heads, religious leaders and other residents in the affected communities.
