The intervention targets Nigerians who recently returned to Imo State from South Africa.
Telecommunications company MTN Nigeria has distributed airtime support to returnees recently received in Imo State from South Africa, while Governor Hope Uzodimma approved a ₦1 million support package for each beneficiary.
According to the development, MTN provided airtime support to the returnees as part of efforts aimed at assisting their reintegration following their arrival in the state.
Governor Hope Uzodimma also announced a financial intervention of ₦1 million for each of the affected individuals received by the state government.
The intervention adds to ongoing institutional and private-sector support initiatives directed at Nigerians returning from difficult circumstances abroad.
The returnees have since been formally received in Imo State, where authorities indicated that immediate support measures would be provided to ease their transition.
