President Bola Tinubu has approved three strategic appointments, naming Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas, Patrick Obahiagbon and Chukwuma Umeoji to leadership roles in the Border Communities Development Agency and the Niger Delta Power Holding Company.

President Bola Tinubu has approved three new appointments across key federal establishments, naming former House of Representatives spokesman Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas as Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), while appointing Patrick Obahiagbon and reappointing Chukwuma Umeoji as Executive Directors of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC). The appointments take immediate effect.

According to a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Namdas replaces Dr. Dakorinama Alabo George, who resigned from the BCDA to pursue an elective political position in his home state.

Patrick Obahiagbon, a former member of the House of Representatives, has been appointed Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company. President Tinubu also reappointed former lawmaker Chukwuma Umeoji as Executive Director, Corporate Services, at the power company.

The appointments affect two federal institutions with responsibilities spanning border community development and power infrastructure management, adding experienced political figures to their leadership structures.

The latest appointments form part of the Federal Government’s ongoing leadership changes across public institutions. By filling vacancies and confirming executive positions, the administration continues to update the management teams of strategic agencies responsible for national development and infrastructure.

Announcing the appointments, the Presidency confirmed that the decisions were approved by President Tinubu and take immediate effect. The statement also noted that Namdas succeeds Dr. Dakorinama Alabo George following his resignation to contest an elective office.

With the appointments now in effect, the newly appointed and reappointed officials are expected to assume their respective responsibilities at the BCDA and NDPHC as the Federal Government continues its administrative restructuring across key agencies.
