National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would lose the 2027 presidential election before 4pm if the election is conducted in a credible, free and fair manner.

Baba-Ahmed made the claim during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

He used the outcome of the recent Osun governorship election as part of his argument, pointing to Governor Ademola Adeleke’s victory over the APC candidate.

According to reports of the interview, Baba-Ahmed argued that the Osun result demonstrated that the ruling APC could be defeated at the ballot box.

He also described the APC as a party facing internal problems despite its control of the presidency, the National Assembly and numerous state governments.

The PRP chairman’s statement represents a strong political prediction rather than an independently established forecast of the 2027 election result.

Baba-Ahmed’s argument is based on his assessment of the current political environment and the possibility of a credible electoral process.

The comment comes as opposition parties increasingly challenge Tinubu’s bid for a second term.

The 2027 presidential contest is expected to feature Tinubu against several opposition candidates, including candidates from newly consolidated opposition platforms.

Baba-Ahmed’s remarks also come shortly after the Osun governorship election, where Adeleke secured re-election.

The result has been interpreted by opposition figures as evidence that the APC can be defeated despite its extensive political structure.

The ruling party, however, remains one of the country’s most powerful political organisations, with control of the federal government and significant influence across the states.

Baba-Ahmed’s prediction should therefore be presented as his political assessment, not as a polling result or established election forecast.
