Former Kano State governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso says his Sokoto visit is part of ongoing consultations aimed at strengthening the NDC ahead of the 2027 elections.

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has arrived in Sokoto State as part of what he described as ongoing nationwide consultations aimed at strengthening the grassroots structure of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to Kwankwaso, the visit focused on a strategic engagement with the party’s leadership in Sokoto State. Discussions centred on expanding the party’s reach, strengthening internal organisation, and mobilising support for the proposed Obi-Kwankwaso presidential ticket and other candidates of the party.

The development comes weeks after the NDC formally affirmed the presidential ticket of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso for the 2027 election cycle.

The Sokoto consultation forms part of broader efforts by the party to consolidate its structures across the country as preparations for future electoral contests continue.

The party has maintained that its focus remains on building nationwide support and strengthening internal capacity ahead of the next general elections.
