The campaign council of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has dismissed the endorsement of APC governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji by a factional leader of the Accord Party.

The development followed an announcement by Prof. Christopher Imumolen, who declared support for Oyebamiji during the APC mega rally in Osogbo.

Imumolen had announced the withdrawal of his faction’s support for Adeleke and endorsed the APC candidate ahead of Saturday’s election.

However, the Imole Campaign Council rejected the development, insisting that Imumolen does not represent the recognised Accord leadership backing Adeleke.

The dispute comes amid competing claims over the leadership of Accord Party in Osun State.

Reports indicate that Accord’s recognised structure has maintained support for Adeleke, while Imumolen leads a faction that has now aligned itself with the APC candidate.

The disagreement has injected another dramatic twist into the final hours of campaigning ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
