Crystal Palace are closing in on a loan deal for Chelsea defender Axel Disasi as the French centre-back prepares to leave Stamford Bridge again.
The two clubs have reached a verbal agreement for a paid loan, according to reports, with no option to buy included in the proposed deal. However, the agreement still requires Disasi to agree to the move before the transfer can be completed.
Disasi has been out of Chelsea’s first-team plans for an extended period and has not played for the club since January 2025.
The 28-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham, where he made 17 appearances in all competitions.
Crystal Palace have identified him as a priority target as they strengthen their defence following the departure of Maxence Lacroix to Chelsea.
Palace have already added defenders including Takehiro Tomiyasu and Oscar Mingueza, but manager Pierre Sage is looking for further defensive options.
Disasi’s proposed move would represent his third Premier League loan spell after previous temporary moves to Aston Villa and West Ham.
The defender joined Chelsea from Monaco in 2023 and signed a six-year contract with the London club.
The proposed Palace move would give Disasi another opportunity to secure regular first-team football after falling down Chelsea’s defensive pecking order.
