Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu could relocate Nigeria’s capital from Abuja to Lagos if he wins a second term in the 2027 presidential election.

Ayodele made the claim in a video shared on social media while discussing what he said could happen under a second Tinubu administration.

According to the cleric, Lagos could undergo major structural changes if Tinubu is re-elected, including potentially becoming Nigeria’s seat of government.

He said the capital could be moved to another part of Lagos State, mentioning areas such as Epe and Lekki.

However, the claim is a prediction by the cleric, not an announced government policy.

There has been no indication from the Presidency that the Tinubu administration is planning to relocate Nigeria’s capital from Abuja to Lagos.

Abuja has been Nigeria’s federal capital since the government formally moved the seat of power from Lagos in December 1991.

Ayodele has made several political predictions concerning the 2027 election and Tinubu’s re-election prospects, including warnings about the President’s political challenges.

The latest claim is therefore best presented as Ayodele’s prediction, rather than as an impending government decision.
