Tyson Fury has cast fresh doubt over his long-awaited fight with Anthony Joshua, saying the proposed heavyweight showdown may no longer happen.

Fury expressed his frustration in a social media video on Friday, accusing Joshua’s camp of making financial demands that could derail the fight.

The proposed bout has been the subject of months of negotiations, with the location emerging as one of the major sticking points.

Joshua’s existing contractual arrangements reportedly require the fight to take place in the United Kingdom, while Saudi promoter Turki Alalshikh and Netflix have been pushing for a potential event at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has been negotiating changes to the terms that would allow the fight to move to the United States.

One of the issues involves additional compensation for Joshua to account for the tax implications of fighting in New York rather than Britain.

Fury has reacted angrily to the continuing negotiations and suggested that the financial demands are threatening the bout.

However, the fight has not been officially cancelled.

Reports indicate that negotiations remain ongoing, while Fury’s manager Spencer Brown has also acknowledged growing concern over the delays.

The fight had been expected to take place later this year, potentially in November, but neither the date nor venue has been formally confirmed.

For now, Fury’s comments have added another major twist to a fight that boxing fans have waited years to see.
