Former Zamfara State Governor and Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Abdul’Aziz Yari, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win re-election in 2027.
Yari’s position comes as the ruling All Progressives Congress intensifies its preparations for the presidential campaign and begins mobilising its structures ahead of the election.
The former governor argued that Tinubu’s performance since assuming office has positioned him strongly for a second term.
Yari also expressed a longer-term ambition for the APC, saying the party is capable of retaining power beyond 2031.
His comments form part of the ruling party’s increasingly confident messaging as the 2027 election approaches, with APC leaders presenting Tinubu’s administration as deserving of another mandate.
The 2027 contest is expected to be closely fought, with opposition parties and political alliances already positioning themselves to challenge the APC.
Yari’s assessment is, however, a political prediction rather than an independent assessment of the President’s electoral prospects.
The APC campaign council has now begun building its structures for nationwide mobilisation as the ruling party seeks to defend the presidency.
