Barcelona have officially completed the signing of Croatia international goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic from Fenerbahce on a four-year contract running until June 2030.
The Spanish champions confirmed the arrival on Thursday, bringing the 31-year-old goalkeeper into a squad that is undergoing further strengthening ahead of the new season.
Reuters reports that the transfer is worth approximately €2 million, with a further €500,000 available in potential add-ons.
Livakovic arrives with extensive European and international experience. He spent the last two seasons at Fenerbahce, making 74 appearances and keeping 24 clean sheets.
The Croatian goalkeeper is also an established international, having represented his country at three World Cups and two European Championships.
His arrival increases competition in Barcelona’s goalkeeping department, where Joan Garcia is expected to compete for the starting position, while veteran goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny remains part of the squad.
Barcelona’s decision to strengthen the position follows the departure of Marc-Andre ter Stegen on loan to Ajax earlier this month.
Livakovic’s move also represents a return to Spanish football after his brief association with Girona.
The transfer makes him Barcelona’s latest addition as the club continues reshaping its squad under manager Hansi Flick.
Barcelona have begun their LaLiga title defence strongly and will host Athletic Bilbao on Friday following their 5-0 opening victory over Elche.
