Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has said manipulating elections in Nigeria has become increasingly difficult, while predicting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure more than 12 million votes in the 2027 presidential election.
Fayose made the comments during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
According to reports of the interview, the former governor argued that developments in Nigeria’s electoral system have made large-scale manipulation more difficult than in previous election cycles.
Fayose also offered his own projection for the 2027 presidential contest, saying Tinubu would secure at least 12 million votes.

His comments come as political parties and presidential aspirants begin intensifying preparations for the 2027 election.

Fayose, a former governor on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, has previously expressed support for Tinubu and argued that the president remains capable of retaining the presidency.
The former governor also spoke about the possibility of an opposition alliance, maintaining that even a combination involving major opposition figures would face significant challenges in defeating Tinubu.
