The LoveWorld community is mourning the reported death of Deaconess Angel Oyakhilome, mother of the founder and president of LoveWorld Incorporated, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.
Deaconess Angel, popularly known as “Big Mummy”, was reported to have died at the age of 88.
Reports from Edo State said she died on September 25, 2026, after decades of being associated with the Oyakhilome family and the wider LoveWorld community.
A Life Connected to the LoveWorld Family
Born in 1938, Deaconess Angel was the wife of the late Elder Tim E. Oyakhilome and the mother of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and his siblings.
She was widely known within the Christ Embassy community as a mother figure whose life was closely connected to the Christian ministry and its development.
Reports on her life describe her as a woman devoted to her family and Christian faith, with members of the LoveWorld community remembering her for her influence and support.
Her son, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, went on to establish and lead LoveWorld Incorporated, widely known as Christ Embassy, which developed into an international Christian ministry.

Although several reports have announced Deaconess Angel’s death and tributes have begun circulating, an important qualification remains: at the time of verification, Christ Embassy had not issued an official confirmation of the death. A senior ministry official reportedly said he had heard the reports but was not in a position to confirm them.
