A 19-year-old Nigerian man based in the United Kingdom has been charged in Barbados in connection with the seizure of 23.4 kilogrammes of suspected cocaine, according to local media reports.

Abdul-Rasheed Anjolaoluwa Oduola, of Dagenham in East London, appeared before the District ‘B’ Magistrates’ Court at Horse Hill, St Joseph, on October 2, where he was charged with offences including possession of cocaine, trafficking, intent to supply and attempting to export the substance.

He was remanded in custody until October 28, 2026, according to Nation News in Barbados.

Police report suspected cocaine seizure

Police said 23.4 kilogrammes of suspected cocaine were seized in connection with Oduola’s case. The estimated street value was put at approximately US$1.17 million.

The reported incident dates to September 29, 2026.

The charges relate to alleged possession and trafficking activities and an alleged attempt to export the substance. The allegations have yet to be determined by a court.

Oduola’s appearance and remand mean that the legal proceedings are ongoing; they do not constitute a finding of guilt.

Second UK man also charged

The Barbados report also identified a second British-based man, 22-year-old Miraldie Ndunzi, who was charged in a separate cocaine-related case.

Police said 23.6 kilogrammes of suspected cocaine, with an estimated street value of US$1.18 million, were seized in connection with Ndunzi’s case. He was also remanded until October 28.

The two cases were reported together, but the quantities and allegations associated with each defendant are distinct.

Proceedings continue

The case highlights the work of law enforcement authorities in addressing alleged drug trafficking and attempted exports through the Caribbean.

The charges against Oduola include several separate offences, each of which must be established through the legal process. The description of the seized substance as suspected cocaine reflects the wording in the police-related report.

Further court proceedings are expected after the remand period. Any additional developments, including evidence presented in court or changes to the charges, should be reported once confirmed by the relevant authorities.
