Ezekiel Dachomo: The Fearless Voice Who Stirred Global Attention on Christian Killings in Nigeria

Plateau-based cleric Evangelist Ezekiel Dachomo has travelled to Israel on what he described as his first international Christian advocacy tour, saying he intends to pray for Nigeria, its leaders and the people of Israel.

Dachomo, a regional leader of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), announced the visit in a Facebook post on Friday, October 2.

The cleric, who has repeatedly raised concerns about attacks on communities in Plateau State, said his prayers extended to Nigerian leaders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and members of Israel’s leadership.

“Today, I am in Israel praying for Nigeria, our leaders, and our people. I believe in miracles, and I believe God can change what looks impossible,” Dachomo wrote.

He also prayed for people seeking healing, assistance, hope and answers to personal challenges.

Cleric extends prayers to Israeli leadership

In a video accompanying his social media post, Dachomo said his prayers included Israel, its people and its government.

He specifically mentioned Netanyahu, members of the Israeli Cabinet and the Israel Defence Forces, praying for what he described as victory over their enemies.

The cleric also mentioned Tinubu, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and other African leaders in his prayers.

Dachomo said he was seeking divine intervention for Nigeria and other African countries, expressing the belief that prayer could bring change in circumstances he considered difficult.

His statements reflect his religious convictions and the purpose he assigned to the trip.

Plateau insecurity remains part of his advocacy

Dachomo has previously spoken publicly about attacks on communities in Plateau State and called for greater attention to the security challenges facing residents.

He has also alleged that members of his extended family were killed during an attack in Riyom Local Government Area in July 2026. Those claims have featured in reports about his advocacy on insecurity.

The cleric’s visit to Israel therefore comes against the background of his public appeals concerning violence in Nigeria and his stated desire to pray for the country’s leaders.

However, the trip should not be interpreted as a diplomatic mission unless an official mandate or institutional role is established.

Faith, advocacy and public leadership

Religious leaders in Nigeria frequently use public platforms to call for peace, support communities affected by violence and encourage government action.

Dachomo’s latest visit brings together his religious advocacy and his expressed concern for Nigeria’s political leadership.

Further details about the duration of the visit and any formal engagements with Israeli organisations or officials were not established in the available reporting.
