The ADC presidential candidate’s “Ask AA” initiative will invite questions on the economy, security, job creation, technology and the cost of living.
Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has introduced a digital engagement platform designed to allow Nigerians to question him directly about his political record, policy proposals and plans for the country ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The initiative, branded “Ask AA,” was announced by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council.
According to Shaibu, the platform will provide citizens with a free channel to submit questions on issues affecting their daily lives, including the economy, insecurity, technology, employment and the rising cost of living.
He said Atiku would personally respond to questions, with support from members of his media team.
Campaign seeks direct engagement with voters
Shaibu said the initiative was intended to narrow the communication gap between the presidential candidate and the electorate by providing a practical way for Nigerians to seek answers about his positions and proposed policies.
“The objective of this initiative is to bring Atiku Abubakar closer to the electorate through a practical, problem-solving platform,” Shaibu said.
He added that the initiative reflected Atiku’s interest in using technology to improve communication and make government more responsive to citizens.
The platform is scheduled to go live at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026, according to the campaign’s announcement.
Policy scrutiny ahead of 2027
The launch comes as political parties and presidential aspirants increasingly use digital platforms to reach voters and communicate their policy positions.
For Atiku, the initiative provides an opportunity to explain his proposals and respond to questions about how his administration would address Nigeria’s economic challenges, security concerns and employment needs if elected.
Its effectiveness will depend on the accessibility of the platform, the range of questions addressed and the clarity of the responses provided.
The initiative also creates an opportunity for voters to scrutinise the candidate’s proposals directly rather than relying solely on campaign statements and media interviews.
