Jordan Nyesom-Wike, son of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has accused businessman Safwan Garba and his lawyer of making false claims in connection with a disputed $2.1 million Abuja land transaction.
Jordan’s legal team rejected allegations levelled against him, describing claims surrounding the transaction as misleading and insisting that the matter should be resolved through the judicial process.
The dispute centres on allegations by Garba that Jordan represented himself as capable of facilitating the allocation of land in Abuja and collected money connected to the proposed transaction. Garba’s petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) alleged that the funds were paid in October 2025.
Jordan has denied receiving the money, maintaining that he was outside Nigeria on the date of the alleged payment. His legal team has also disputed reports suggesting that he admitted receiving the $2.1 million.
The case remains a contested legal matter, and the allegations against the parties have not been established as proven criminal wrongdoing. The court proceedings and any investigation by the relevant authorities will be important in determining the facts.
