British YouTuber and BMX rider, Ryan Taylor, has opened up for the first time about his failed engagement with Nigerian disc jockey and billionaire heiress, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, revealing details that have reignited conversations across social media.
During an interview on the Ladders Podcast, the 32-year-old influencer reflected on their short-lived relationship and the reasons behind their separation. Taylor, who proposed to DJ Cuppy in December 2022 after dating her for less than a month, said several issues strained their bond, eventually leading to the end of their engagement.
According to him, one of the major problems they faced was Cuppy’s alleged reluctance to work with Nigerians in his business environment. “Is it weird that I said she didn’t like Nigerians? She came into my business and didn’t even want Nigerian staff,” Taylor stated during the interview.
He further noted that their relationship was not governed by any contracts or non-disclosure agreements, emphasizing that while the breakup was painful, it taught him valuable life lessons. “What I got from that was lessons. Everything that happens, happens for a reason. Do I regret it? No. Lesson learned. I realized that money isn’t everything, but not having it is,” he said.
Their relationship first made headlines in December 2022 after the couple met during the Gumball 3000 rally, sparking excitement among fans who admired their chemistry. However, by mid-2023, speculation about a breakup grew after the pair unfollowed each other on Instagram, signaling that the once-promising romance had come to an end.
The revelation has since triggered mixed reactions online, with fans expressing shock at Taylor’s comments while others sympathized with DJ Cuppy, who has yet to publicly respond.
