Nigerian social commentator Daniel Regha has weighed in on the ongoing dispute over the burial arrangements for late gospel musician ToluwaniSings, suggesting that the singer’s family should insist on burying him inside the family house to prevent the property from eventually being sold.

Regha’s intervention comes amid a disagreement between the late singer’s father, Muniru Adekunle Olayemi, and ToluwaniSings’ wife over where the musician should be laid to rest.

Olayemi has publicly appealed to his son’s wife to allow the burial to take place at the family house, maintaining that this would bring him peace and fulfil his wishes for his son’s final resting place.

The grieving father has opposed the idea of burying the musician in a church or cemetery, saying he would prefer the burial to take place at home, where the family could also organise prayers in his honour.

ToluwaniSings died on October 14, 2026, and the disagreement over his burial arrangements has since attracted public attention, particularly following interviews in which his father explained his position.

Olayemi also recounted aspects of his son’s upbringing, including how the singer came to live with his maternal relatives following the death of his mother when he was an infant. He maintained that he remained connected to his son and that his family contributed to his education.

Regha’s comments introduce another dimension to the dispute by raising concerns about the future ownership and management of the property if the singer is buried there.

However, the suggestion reflects the commentator’s opinion and does not establish that the property is at risk of being sold. Any decision concerning the burial location would need to take account of the family’s wishes, applicable laws, ownership arrangements and any relevant cultural or religious considerations.

The disagreement highlights the emotional and practical challenges families can face when making funeral arrangements, particularly when relatives have different expectations about the deceased’s final resting place.

While the family continues to navigate the dispute, calls for a resolution that respects the deceased and considers the concerns of those closest to him remain central to the discussion.
