Authorities in Ogun State are set to prosecute popular TikTok influencer Ademola Abiodun, also known as DJ Chicken, after a series of traffic incidents raised serious concerns about public safety.

The decision follows a crash on November 1 in Sagamu, where DJ Chicken reportedly collided with two motorcycles, leaving a rider and a female passenger critically injured. Witnesses said he attempted to flee the scene but was restrained by bystanders.

The influencer has also been involved in another accident in Lekki, Lagos State, narrowly avoiding pedestrians, marking his third reported crash in just two months. The repeated incidents have prompted state authorities to take decisive action to prevent further risks to road users.

In a statement shared on its official X handle, the Ogun State Ministry of Justice emphasized the importance of criminal accountability for drivers who pose a threat to public safety. The statement read: “While civil compensation may address the consequences of reckless driving, individuals who repeatedly endanger lives must face legal consequences.”

The ministry further noted that the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has instructed relevant officers to expedite proceedings in the Sagamu crash case, ensuring a prompt arraignment.

Officials reiterated their commitment to working closely with law enforcement agencies to protect residents from negligent drivers and maintain road safety across the state.
