The widow of the late singer Mohbad, Wunmi, has issued a fresh update on the ongoing legal battle over the paternity of her son, Liam, following renewed pressure from her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba. Aloba has repeatedly questioned whether the child is biologically his grandson and sought a court order compelling Wunmi to subject Liam to a DNA test. Over time, public accusations have circulated claiming that Wunmi had been avoiding the process.
However, in a statement shared on her Instagram page, Wunmi suggested that the delays in conducting the test were not from her side. Through her legal team, she stated that Aloba had been responsible for shifting conditions and altering demands, which she says have slowed down progress on the matter.
According to the statement, the case resumed in court yesterday, where Aloba requested an order mandating that the DNA test be conducted in two hospitals of his choosing. Wunmi noted that the court dismissed the application, ruling that the tests must be carried out in two neutral medical facilities where neither party has personal or vested interests.
