The family of late Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Allwell Ademola, has announced plans for her burial, one week after her sudden death.
In a statement circulated online on Friday, the family disclosed that the actress will be laid to rest at the Atan Cemetery in Yaba, Lagos State, on Friday, January 9, 2026.
According to the burial programme, a service of songs, candlelight procession and artiste night will hold a day earlier, on Thursday, January 8, at LTV 8, Lagos, between 4:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.
Ademola reportedly died on December 27, 2025, after suffering a heart attack. She was 49 years old.
Her passing came as a shock to colleagues, friends and fans within and outside the Nigerian film industry. Several Nollywood stars, including Iyabo Ojo, Funke Akindele, Femi Adebayo, Biola Adebayo, Lateef Adedimeji and Toyin Abraham, took to social media to express grief and pay tribute to her life and career.
Allwell Ademola was widely regarded as a dedicated actress and director whose contributions left a lasting impact on the industry.
