Popular Nigerian musicians Adekunle Gold and his wife, Simi, have welcomed twin babies, expanding their family several years after the birth of their first child.
The development was confirmed on Wednesday when Adekunle Gold shared the news on his Snapchat page, expressing gratitude for the double blessing. “Asked God for another child and He blessed me double,” the singer wrote.
Although the couple has yet to reveal the gender of the newborns, the announcement has been met with widespread excitement, drawing congratulatory messages from fans, fellow artistes, and other figures within the entertainment industry.
Speculation about the pregnancy had gathered momentum in December after Simi shared a video on Instagram showing a noticeable baby bump, accompanied by the caption, “From my baby, for my babies.” The post sparked anticipation among followers, many of whom suspected the couple was expecting again.
The arrival of the twins comes weeks after Simi promoted a scene from Adekunle Gold’s recently released music video, My Love Is the Same, which further fueled excitement among fans about developments in the couple’s personal life.
Adekunle Gold and Simi, who married in 2019 after years of friendship and musical collaboration, are regarded as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated celebrity couples. Both artistes were formerly signed to X3M Music before achieving mainstream success in the Nigerian music industry.
The couple welcomed their first child, Adejare Kosoko, popularly known as Deja, in May 2020.
