Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has advised the public against idolising relationships in the wake of the reported separation of renowned influencer couple, Kristy and Desmond Scott.

Okoye made the remark on Sunday while reacting to news that the couple, celebrated for their family-oriented social media content, are ending their marriage after more than a decade together. The split reportedly follows allegations of infidelity levelled against Desmond Scott.

Kristy Scott, widely known online as Kristy Sarah, is said to have filed for divorce, citing alleged infidelity that she claimed “completely wiped out any reasonable chance of reconciliation.”

The development has stunned fans and followers, as Kristy and Desmond built a strong online brand around their family life, frequently sharing wholesome videos, pranks and everyday moments with their two sons, Vance and Westin.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Kristy filed formal divorce papers on December 30, 2025, in Harris County, Texas, where the couple reside and have grown much of their content-creation business. The filing states that the marriage has broken down irretrievably and seeks to formally dissolve the union.

Reacting to the situation, Okoye cautioned fans against placing relationships on a pedestal, noting that appearances on social media often do not reflect the full reality behind closed doors.

The high-profile breakup has once again sparked conversations online about the pressures of public life, the realities of marriage, and the risks of idolizing relationships based solely on curated social media content.
