Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has spoken out over what she described as persistent harassment after thousands of men allegedly flood her WhatsApp with unsolicited relationship proposals.
The actress revealed that more than 5,000 messages have poured into her WhatsApp account from men who reportedly obtained her phone number through Facebook. According to her, the messages often include questions about her relationship status, marriage proposals, and personal introductions detailing age, location and intentions.
Blessing said the situation has become overwhelming, noting that she wakes up daily to hundreds of new messages, many of which she considers intrusive. She explained that attempts to secure her privacy, including efforts to change or restrict access to her number on Facebook, have been unsuccessful.
The actress disclosed that the affected phone number is one she cannot easily change, leaving her frustrated and emotionally drained. While acknowledging that she is single, Blessing stressed that she is not actively searching for a relationship and does not measure her worth by her marital status.
She also warned that insults or online pressure would not influence her personal decisions, adding that the constant messages have disrupted her peace of mind.
“Over 5,000 men cannot marry me at the same time,” she said, describing the situation as chaotic and distressing.
Nkechi Blessing appealed to social media users with technical knowledge to help her secure or remove her number from public access, saying the volume of unsolicited contact has become unbearable.
