Nigerian Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reacted angrily to claims that he owes a wedding planner the sum of $50,000 for services allegedly rendered during his wedding to Chioma Avril Rowland.
The singer dismissed the allegation on Sunday evening, describing the accusation as “crazy.”
The controversy followed reports that Funke Bucknor-Obruthe, chief executive officer of the event planning company said to have handled the high-profile wedding, had accused Davido of failing to fully settle her company’s fees.
The claims, which quickly gained traction on social media, were accompanied by screenshots of an alleged conversation in which the event planner was said to be threatening legal action over the unpaid amount.
Reacting via his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Davido appeared visibly displeased, suggesting that the allegation was both insulting and unfounded.
“This is just crazy atp (at this point),” the singer wrote.
As of the time of filing this report, the event planning company has not issued a detailed public response addressing Davido’s reaction, while the singer has not provided further clarification on the matter.
