Nollywood actor and social media personality Stanley Ontop has been arrested following a petition reportedly filed by fellow actor Frederick Leonard.
The arrest was disclosed in a post shared on Stanley’s Instagram story, where he claimed he was picked up by police officers on Friday afternoon at Dennis Osadebe University, Asaba, Delta State, where he is currently studying law.
According to Stanley, the officers arrived on campus to effect his arrest over a petition he described as coming from an “unknown person.” He questioned why he was not formally invited before the action was taken.
“Some policemen came to my school this afternoon to arrest me over a petition from an unknown person. How can you invade a university to perfect my arrest? What happened to an invitation?” he wrote.
The development comes about a week after Frederick Leonard reportedly filed a petition against Stanley over alleged defamation.
As of the time of filing this report, the police have not issued an official statement on the arrest or the details of the petition.
