Nollywood comic actor and content creator Okemesi has reportedly fallen into a coma following complications linked to medication administered during a recent hospital treatment.

The development was disclosed on Monday night by fellow actor Jeff Owolewa, popularly known as Tony Montana, in a post shared on Instagram.

The incident comes just days after Okemesi moved into a new apartment reportedly secured for him through public support after he appealed for financial assistance amid health challenges that had left him homeless. The actor, whose real name is Bamidele Tope Saint, had earlier sought help from Nigerians following a prolonged illness.

According to Owolewa, Okemesi was rushed back to the hospital after experiencing adverse reactions believed to be connected to drugs prescribed during a previous admission.

He explained that the actor had shown signs of weakness and loss of appetite over the weekend before his condition deteriorated. Owolewa said attempts to secure treatment at several hospitals were unsuccessful due to a lack of available space before the actor was eventually returned to the private hospital where he had initially received treatment.

Medical personnel reportedly admitted and stabilised him upon arrival. Owolewa disclosed that Okemesi has been placed on oxygen support and has remained in a coma since Monday morning, although his breathing has shown signs of improvement.

He appealed to members of the public to keep the actor in their prayers and also requested financial assistance to support ongoing medical treatment.

Further updates on Okemesi’s condition are expected as medical care continues.
